When do you know the work is finished? When do you step away? That was a problem Kristi always struggled with as a visual artist and one many creatives will find relatable. Something finally clicked during her recently completed project: a chic, feminine flat in Los Angeles that was, “all about the furniture.” When reflecting on what would become her favorite residential project, she recalled trying to put her client’s art collection on the walls. It was beautiful but it “never felt right.” That’s when she realized, that was because it was unnecessary. “There are sometimes when undone is done.”

Are you planning on entering the 2023 Pinnacle Awards? The International Society of Furniture Designers (ISFD) announced they have extended the 2023 Pinnacle Awards entry deadline to August 3. To be considered for the industry’s highest design honor, product designers, manufacturers or students must enter the 2023 Pinnacle Awards on the ISFD website. Winners will be announced during the High Point Market, the industry’s highest profile show, at the Pinnacle Awards Gala on Monday, October 16 in the Loft at Condon Yards. Tickets will go on sale August 1.

Influenced by architects and artists of the 1970s, the Spring 2023 Collection includes an
assortment of furniture, upholstered sofas and chairs, dining and bedside tables, credenzas,
lighting and more. Modernized for the upscale American market today, the collection features an
overstuffed puffer, rounded velvet sofa, concrete nesting tables in organic shapes and several
chairs including a belted, leather slingseat dining chair. Polished concrete, walnut, velvet, soft
leather and linen are some of the materials in application.
