With Earth Day occurring near the end of the month, I find April to be a great time to renew our commitment to creating beautiful spaces that also foster sustainability. In this edition of Design Business Blueprint, we’re addressing the topic of sustainability and how interior designers and professionals in the home furnishings industry can pave the way for a cleaner, greener future.

This High Point Market, Design News Now is teaming up with Lancaster, Ericka Saurit’s Marketing School for Creatives in the Universal Learning Center, Odette Furniture and Hooker Furnishings to bring buyers a series of panel discussions and fireside chats that will help them sell better, expand their brands and uplevel their business to enter the luxury market.

Cameron Cook-Sellers has joined the company as vice president – brand marketing & communications. In this new role, she will oversee brand marketing, growth marketing and insights, partnerships and licensing, and global communications. In her new role, she will report to Johne Albanese, Chief Marketing Officer.

Hooker Furnishings has received the 2023 North Carolina Governor’s Export Award for its leadership in developing business globally. Recognized alongside seven North Carolina companies for their sales success in international markets, Hooker Furnishings was honored with the award for the large business category.

Hooker Furnishings is opening two additional showrooms for its Pulaski, Samuel Lawrence Drew & Jonathan Home, and PRI brands at the upcoming Las Vegas Market. Located in Building B, the showrooms support the company’s ongoing strategy of diversifying its customer base and enhancing its visibility and accessibility with its partners.

Hooker Furniture, a division of Hooker Furnishings, recently received new inventory of its Susan G. Komen® licensed collection via magenta shipping containers operated by Ocean Network Express (ONE). The eye-catching containers feature a pink ribbon – the international symbol for breast cancer awareness.
