The International Housewares Association (IHA) is accepting topic proposals for education sessions during The Inspired Home Show 2024, IHA’s Global Home + Housewares Market. Retailers, trend forecasters and marketers, intellectual property attorneys and designers, along with experts in branding, packaging, smart home and other crucial business topics, are invited to submit proposals for presentations in the Inspiration Theater and the Inventors Revue at the 2024 Show. Deadline for submissions is Nov. 22.

Universal Furniture hosted a Learning Lab series of panel discussions in their showroom. Decor News Now Editor-in-Chief, Courtney Porter moderates “Discover the Art of Design: Big Cities vs. Small Towns,” with Marta Mitchell of Marta Mitchell Interior Design Group, Robert Ventolo of Crain + Ventolo, and Christian Daw of Christian Daw Design. The discussion includes the dynamic relationship between location and design style, wants and needs; and the unique design needs and styles of urban and rural clients.
Interior designers interested in earning the new certification will take 25 sequential, hourlong online classes, or chapters, focusing on biophilia, color contrast and intensity, fractals and other topics related to the “evolutionary inheritance” that affects how humans recognize and respond to beauty and good design, Peterson says.
