Best of PDC Spring Market

Last week the Pacific Design Center hosted their annual Spring Market in West Hollywood, where the West Coast’s premier luxury interior designers and vendors gather for state-of-the-industry panel discussions and fireside chats, and where showrooms were awash with feminine curves, moody palettes, edgy accents, and lots and lots of texture. Here were the product highlights:

New for the Spring season, the Passage Collection catalog was photographed at Penshurst Place in the UK, an estate used by Henry VIII as his hunting lodge by photographer Chris Everard and styled by Ali Brown.

Passage Collection by Rosemary Hallgarten

The irresistibly tactile Passages Collection by English designer Rosemary Hallgarten is one you can’t keep your hands off of. Showcased beautifully in the Thomas Lavin showroom at The PDC, this collection resonates with layers of meaning in architecture, design, and nature. For more than 20 years, Rosemary Hallgarten has provided unmistakable luxury products hand-made by local craftspeople in Peru, Nepal, and Brazil.

Rosemary’s signature Alpaca Linen features new colors ranging from deep nocturnal black to ombre in sheer glam.
Passages can reflect life as a winding river, much like the Rivulet rug, a Rosemary original reintroduced this Spring. The geometric details of the original 1920 shearling fused with the soft essence of the Cloud 1920 rug with extraordinarily thick, carved faux-shearling and slight scalloped edge detail.

The Black Edition by The Romo Group

In its first launch since 2021, Black Edition by The Romo Group introduced three new lines of luxury fabrics and a fresh line of wallcoverings that embrace a feeling of modern elegance. The palettes are moody, edgy and masculine with a sheen glimmer thread so tactfully throughout the collection, even designers resistant to glam will reconsider.

The collection features bold designs that use painterly inspiration, offering a unique point of interest. Patterns resemble murals, exploring sculptural outlines, brushstroke motifs, and diverse dimensions.

La Robe de Marie chair by Emma DeRoche in the ArtWolf Gallery

Blooming with overwhelming proportion, Parisian designer Emma DeRoche reimagined her signature sculptural chair titled “La Robe de Marie,” as part of Frieze LA and for the ArtWolf Gallery exhibition: “The Female Gaze.”

Inspired by the grand patinated sculptures around the gardens of Versailles, the piece feels like something out of Alice & Wonderland. Enveloped in its petals, the chair is cozy enough to curl up in for hours with a good book.

Atelier Van der Swan chairs in the ArtWolf Gallery

Also part of “The Female Gaze,” designer Clair Van DerSwan’s structural art furniture features striking modern lines softened with fashion-forward upholstery. It’s easy to envision her Out of the Box chair as the perfect perch in front of a vanity, where you’d prep for a night out on the town. You can see more of her collections showcased at the upcoming Salone del Mobile in Milan.
