September is waking up design. From Paris to Dallas to New York, the calendar is packed with showhouses, art, design, new collections and conversations.
Paris Design Week kicks off the month, overlapping with Dallas Design Week, then we head north for What’s New What’s Next at the New York Design Center (celebrating it’s 100th year), where Design News Now editor-in-Chief Rachel Fasciani moderates a conversation on the increasingly important intersection of color and profitability. Meanwhile, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House returns with its signature dose of design fantasy, while The Armory Show brings the art world into the mix.

Paris Design Week Maison & Objet, 9/10-9/19, Le Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Opéra and Bastille Districts, Paris
Paris is the definitive design destination this September as Paris Design Week takes over the city with 500 participants spread across 320 showrooms, galleries, studios, museums and unexpected spaces. Organized around four of Paris’ key design districts, the 10-day event brings the spirit of Maison&Objet beyond the fairgrounds and into the streets, with exhibitions, installations, new collections, talks and plenty of reasons to wander.
This year, keep an eye on Paris Design Week Factory, where more than 150 emerging designers will show across four galleries; a new “Apartments” trail offering access to private interiors; and Les Rencontres du Design, a new forum devoted to conversations shaping design’s next chapter. Its a citywide treasure hunt for what—and who—is coming next.

Dallas Design Week, 9/15-9/17, Dallas Market Center
Dallas Design Week returns for three days of inspiration, ideas and connection at Dallas Market Center. The event brings together designers and industry leaders for a thoughtfully curated lineup of networking events, provocative panels, engaging seminars and book signings. Throughout the market, showroom vignettes offer fresh perspectives and the latest in design, while opportunities to connect with designers and retailers from across the country.

Kips Bay Show House, 9/15-10/13, 80 W. Washington Place, New York
Kips Bay 2026 is shaping up to be one of the season’s most compelling design destinations. The storied design show house has landed at an address with a pedigree to match: 80 W. Washington Place, an 1839 Georgian mansion built by “American Aristocrat” Jacob LeRoy and, over the years, home to a fascinating roster of residents, including composer John Philip Sousa, media personality Kylie Jenner and singer, songwriter and producer Travis Scott.
But the address is only the beginning.
Spanning four floors and 22 designers, this year’s show house introduces another first: an art curator. Gay Gassman will source and place American works throughout the residence, adding another layer of cultural context and design dimension.

Entering its 17th year, NYDC’s What’s New What’s Next brings together the design community for a showcase of emerging ideas, unexpected design, new materials and the products poised to shape what’s ahead.
