ASID foundation announces recipients of legacy scholarships, Polsky award & prize, ENO grant  and David Barrett Memorial Scholarship

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Foundation has announced the winners of its Legacy Scholarships, Polsky Award and Prize, Eno Grant, and the David Barrett Memorial Scholarship. The ASID Foundation, in partnership with ASID Industry Partners, provides annual scholarships and grants to expand research and knowledge around the impact of interior design on behavior, health, and well-being.

High Point by Design announces new board members

HPxD also confirmed Emily Mansfield as Assistant Secretary. Mansfield is an accomplished and versatile human resources specialist and ceramicist living in High Point. Adept at building and maintaining relationships across all levels of an organization, her passion for organizational growth while fostering an inclusive and engaging work environment aligns with HPxD’s vision and values. 
HPxD Board Officers Tom Van Dessel (President), Cass Key (Vice President), Frank Leyon (Membership), and Jack Hendrix (Treasurer) will continue in their roles.

The Container Store names the Kaleidoscope Project for yearlong giving campaign

Through its giving campaign, The Container Store will support the work of The Kaleidoscope Project, including its internships for students in high school and college and the scholarships it funds for those interns to receive Green Leader Certification through the Sustainable Furniture Council. Those scholarships enable young BIPOC creatives to enter their industry with a knowledge of sustainability.

Overstock acquires Bed Bath & Beyond and is changing their name

Today, Overstock announced the consummation of its acquisition of certain intellectual property assets of the Bed Bath & Beyond banner from Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. under a Bankruptcy Court supervised process. Overstock is hosting a conference call tomorrow, June 29, 2023 at 8.30 a.m. ET, to discuss the transaction.

Ryan Saghian is Unapologetically Chic

In 2023, he launched an online store, Ryan Saghian Mode-De-Vie, which features a curated collection of furnishings, art, and accessories from his favorite trade vendors and artisans. He is one of the first interior designers to embrace the metaverse with his own virtual showroom, optimized for a fully interactive VR experience. Saghian received his Bachelor’s of Science in Interior Architecture and Design from the Art Institute of California.
