Rottet Collection Furnishings Add Cutting-Edge Elegance
MILAN, Italy, April 29, 2024 – Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, internationally celebrated architect and designer and founding principal/president and owner of Rottet Studio participated in the 2024 l’Appartamento by Artemest, the digital destination that offers unrivalled access to the world of Italian craftsmanship and design.
Known for her award-winning interiors for the world’s leading luxury hotel brands, offices and high-end residences, Rottet celebrated the tradition of Italian craftsmanship in the artfully appointed Grand Salon adorned with unique antiquities and juxtaposed with select pieces of her cutting-edge Rottet Collection furniture, including two new additions to her collection – Cake Lamp and Luminosa Screen – both developed and handmade in Italy specifically for the space.
Rottet’s 605 sq. ft. Living Room was framed in an unassuming palette of brown highlighted by mint green flourishes featuring soft celadon wainscotting and upholstered silk brocade walls, all encased in hand-painted wood ceiling panels and a two-tone wood parquet diamond patterned floor.
Dark walnut wood chairs topped with curly Tibetan ecru were paired with minty vessels and Rottet’s inventive multi-functional Luminosa Screen produced from custom Rubelli fabric embedded with LEDs added a warm glow.
The expansive material palette emphasized pale Venetian glass, light green marble, raw and semi-precious minerals, alongside Rottet’s signature surfaces, dichroic glass and low coffee and side tables punctuated with the debut of Cake Lamp, a whimsical handmade light inspired by an elevated cake stand and featuring hand-etched crystal.
“The elegant palazzo was a stunning backdrop for the existing Rottet Collection range while providing inspiration to help me envision new pieces that pushed my creativity to new highs, like the Cake Lamp and Luminosa Screen. The afternoon sun was an added flourish, casting a golden glow on the room as light reflected and refracted through the products,” said Rottet.
L’Appartamento by Artemest debuted during Milano Design Week at Residenza Vignale, Via Enrico Toti, 2, Milan
1. Aurora Table II
The Aurora Table II is a compelling statement piece that commands attention. Designed with a tempered glass top that rests softly on two sturdy bronze and cast glass legs, the table captures light and emits a soft, natural glow to complement a wide variety of interior styles.
2. Cake Lamp
Artful and inspiring, the Cake Lamp is handmade in Italy from hand-etched crystal. With a single vertically positioned bulb to cast even light from the center. When illuminated, the top comes to life warming the room with soft light and playful shadows. The functional top is also removable so objects and precious treats can be uniquely displayed on the flat plate within a dome of light.
3. Luminosa Screen
Elegant and multi-functional, the Luminosa Screen is comprised of a custom Italian Rubelli LED fabric inside a metal frame which rests within stone foot supports that can be positioned as needed along the base to accommodate unique installation sites. Originally designed as a radiant heating cover for l’Appartamento by Artemest at Milano Design Week 2024, the Luminosa Screen can also be used as a fireplace screen during summer months or made taller into a one, three or four-panel room divider. The Luminosa Screen provides privacy, concealment, and decoration by day, and with a flip of a switch by night, transforms the ambiance, casting a warm glow through the textured fabric.
4. Float Table
Designed with the delicate balance of a polished metal frame and Sophie Mallebranche® Woven Metal Glass Top, the serpentine shape of the Float C Table offers both luxury and practicality as a functional side table designed to slide beneath low-profile seating arrangements for convenient access.
5. Cross Bar Table
With its irregular tempered glass top and its bronze and cast glass base, the Cross Bar Table is akin to a vintage piece of jewelry, it accessorizes any space. Part of the Cubist Collection, the Cross Bar Table is irregularly shaped top follows the theme of the collection of distorting the traditional and creating new forms. Smoke glass base with metal frame.
6. Dichroic Table
The award-winning Dichroic Table is an active statement piece that evolved from Lauren Rottet’s fascination with early Light and Space artists. As natural light changes throughout the day, the surfaces of the table dramatically shift color, reflecting and refracting colored shadows that create a dialogue with its surrounding environment.
