Junior League of Buffalo seeks historic home for 2025 showhouse

– The Junior League of Buffalo is looking for a home with historical and architectural value to be transformed into its 23rd Decorators’ Show House next spring.
Eligible properties must be situated within the City of Buffalo or its immediate surroundings, not exceeding a 15-mile distance, and should encompass at least 7,000 square feet of space. Essential features of the home include dual staircases, a garage accommodating at least two vehicles, ample yard space, and provisions for off-street parking. The selected house must be available and vacant from January 1st to June 1st, 2025. This period will allow local decorators and craftsmen to rejuvenate the property before it welcomes the public for a roughly three-week exhibition in May 2025.
Referrals for potential homes can be directed to the Junior League at Buffalo via email at jlb@jlbuffalo.org.
Partnering with The Buffalo News, the Junior League of Buffalo has successfully raised over $5 million for the Western New York Community since 1981, thanks to the funds generated from its Show Houses. The funds raised have supported various local organizations, including the Providence Farm Collective, Chestnut Ridge Conservancy, West Side Bazaar, Torn Space Theatre, the Massachusetts Avenue Project, and Jericho Road Ministries, significantly impacting the community.
Last year’s Decorators’ Show House, located at 102 Seymour Street, generated $175,000 towards a community grant. The 2023 Decorators’ Show House grant recipient will be disclosed in April 2024, continuing the tradition of giving back to the WNY community.
