Our ongoing series, Champions of Design Entrepreneurship, offers a rare, intimate look into the minds of industry trailblazers, created in partnership with 24/7 Creative founder Serena Martin. Featuring interviews and first-person accounts from renowned designers, architects, artisans, and industry veterans, each story is a reflection of how they interpret what it means to be both a ‘champion’ and an ‘entrepreneur’ in our field. This eighth installation features New York City based interior designer and product designer, Robin Baron:
As an interior designer, I’ve spent my career transforming spaces into places where people feel comfortable, inspired, and at home. Giving back has always been important to me. A few years ago, my son Simon talked to me about an idea he had. As a young adult on the autism spectrum, Simon has always been deeply insightful, and he told me he wanted to create a community for people like him—neurodivergent individuals who often feel isolated or overlooked.
His vision was clear: a place where members could make genuine connections, build lasting friendships, and feel truly valued. As his mom, I recognized that my son’s idea was powerful and I had to bring it to life. So, together with my daughter Chloe and with Simon’s vision guiding us, we launched Relationspot—a first-of-its-kind social community for neurodivergent individuals.
It’s designed to move members from loneliness to belonging and to help them create meaningful connections and lasting friendships. This journey has been a labor of love, and it’s been truly a family affair. For many of our members, Relationspot is the first place where they’ve built real friendships. Hearing their stories fills my heart. It’s about so much more than just meeting people—it’s about being seen, celebrated, and valued for who you are. I know firsthand how many talents and gifts our members have, and how often they go unnoticed.
At Relationspot, we’re here to change that narrative and to show the world how extraordinary they are. We offer weekly zoom events, weekly in-person events, speed dating and social mixers, all with our coaches present to facilitate connections and relationships. We also offer Community Classes, one-to-one social coaching, and we are hoping to launch matchmaking for dating in 2025, giving our members the tools and support to explore romantic relationships in a safe, understanding environment. It’s an exciting step, and one that I know will make a meaningful impact.
As I reflect on this journey, I’m overwhelmed by how much Relationspot has grown. It’s not just a social club—it’s a movement. It’s a place where people who’ve felt isolated their whole lives can find connection, purpose, and joy. Relationspot is proof of what’s possible when you lead with love and commitment. For me, it’s a way to use my skills, my voice, and my family’s passion to create a brighter, more inclusive future. Because everyone deserves to belong, and everyone deserves to be empowered.
