RALEIGH, NC – The Green Chair Project, a non-profit dedicated to providing essential home furnishings to individuals and families overcoming homelessness, crisis, or financial hardship, proudly announces its 15th anniversary celebration.
Since 2010, The Green Chair has furnished more than 10,000 individuals and families with essential household items, provided over 10,000 children with a bed of their own, and diverted more than 10,000 tons of furniture and housewares from local landfills. Stable, well-furnished homes have a profound impact – 97% of surveyed families remain stably housed one year after receiving assistance from The Green Chair Project.

“The Green Chair Project’s success over the past 15 years is a testament to the generosity, compassion, and partnership of our Wake County community,” said Rae Marie Czuhai, CEO of The Green Chair Project. “Together, we’ve provided not just furnishings but hope, dignity, and stability to thousands of neighbors. We look forward to continuing to positively impact lives with the ongoing support of the community.”
As Wake County’s only furniture bank and sole provider of new beds and cribs, The Green Chair Project fulfills a unique and vital role, helping families establish stable, comfortable homes. The community is invited to join in celebrating 15 impactful years through a series of events this April:
