Shoppe Object NYC Summer 2024 Wrap-Up: Another record-breaking success

New York City, NY — Shoppe Object, the premier home and gift trade show, has concluded its highly anticipated Summer 2024 edition with remarkable success, marking a significant milestone in its continuous growth trajectory. This season’s show saw a 13% increase in exhibitors and a 10% increase in unique buyer attendance as compared to last year, highlighting the event’s expanding influence in the design community. Notably, 22% of exhibitors were international, underscoring the show’s global appeal and reach.

“Our summer shows are always fun, filled with bright colors for the season ahead, and our annual Shoppe Object Show Boat cruise around New York Harbor was the best one yet, with a joy and energy that truly reflects the spirit of our community,” noted Jesse James, Founder & Creative Director of Shoppe Object.

This year’s show featured a vibrant array of activations and initiatives across its two locations. At Skylight at Essex Crossing, the Nourish space, curated by Dr. Maria Geyman — a Vogue contributor and founder of Masha Tea — presented a curated collection of beauty and gourmet products. Additionally, The Shoppe Object Global Artisan Project, in collaboration with ByHand Consulting, highlighted global artisan goods. The Live Collage sessions by James Gallagher further captivated and engaged attendees.

Meanwhile, Pier 36 highlighted the innovative works of the Artist of the Season, Diane Vaquerano, whose creativity left a lasting impression on all who visited. The area also featured Ukraine Designs, showcased under the banner ‘TradewithUA,’ which emphasized Ukrainian craftsmanship, and sustainability. Serving as a hub for emerging designers to present their groundbreaking concepts, the American Design Club Incubation Space featured a diverse range of innovative American designers, offering attendees the chance to explore a selection of ceramics, furnishings, accessories, and more. Both locations were unified by the Black Lives Matter Action Initiative (BLMAI), reinforcing Shoppe Object’s commitment to social justice and inclusivity within the design industry.

“It was a wonderful experience. I’m grateful for all of the thought and care that the organizers put into the show, and I appreciate that the standards are high — consistently so. This, my second year, was better than my first. I had more work to show and knew the ropes and expectations. That translated into more orders & connections made.”

As Shoppe Object looks to the future, exciting changes are on the horizon. Summer 2024 was the final show to be hosted at Skylight at Essex Crossing and Pier 36; February 2025 will see the event move to a new, yet-to-be-announced location in New York City, promising an even more expansive and dynamic experience for exhibitors and attendees. Jesse goes on to say, “This show was a particularly meaningful one for us as our last edition on the Lower East Side. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to answer the call of our customers, setting the stage for thoughtful growth ahead in 2025, while maintaining a high level of curation all under one roof. We’re beyond excited for what’s to come!”

Up next, Shoppe Object will return to High Point’s Historic Market Square from October 26-29, 2024. This edition will feature curated programming by Blue Spiral 1, a renowned gallery from Asheville, for a rich and engaging experience throughout the show. “We’ve come to look forward to both the variety of regular retail showroom customers and residential interior design clients that visit us at Shoppe High Point.  The quality of the consistent traffic and the level of conversations we’re able to have with them has led to meaningful new long-term relationships.”

“Shoppe Object High Point has been a truly positive experience for my brand. As a home decor business

specializing in handmade pottery and sculpture, it’s exciting to connect with a market focused on interior design.

I have made connections that have led to commissioned artworks and pottery selections for residential interiors.
