Innovation & sustainability: Quartzforms® surfaces featured at KBIS in Vegas and KBB in Birmingham

Aesthetics, functionality, technology, and green awareness: the Scapin Group company talks about its range of kitchen and bathroom furnishings and counter-tops, from the assortment of quartz surfaces that satisfies the desire for bolder designs, to its revolutionary Ecotone™ collection.

The innovation of Quartzforms® is staged at KBIS in Las Vegas, attended by companies in the Kitchen&Bath industry from around the world (Feb. 27th-29th), and at the KBB in Birmingham, Europe’s leading kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom expo (March 3rd-6th).

Specializing in the manufacture of quartz surfaces marked by a lengthy and complex technological evolution, Quartzforms® is a company belonging to the Scapin Group. These trade fairs are the stages where it showcases its products highlighting its designs for architects and designers featuring advanced and environmentally conscious furnishings.

In the exhibition booths designed for the two trade fairs the different collections interact in a balanced interplay of shades of colour intended to showcase the wide range of products and finishes.

The attention-grabbing item in the booth, Ecotone™ isthe new generation of slabs made with recycled components, a resin derived from bio-compound, containing less than 5% silica. Through the most advanced quartz processing technology, this material offers an alternative with a low impact on the environment while delivering outstanding technical performances such as resistance to impacts, scratches, stains, and acidic substances.

In nature, Ecotone is a transitional environment between two ecosystems or more generally between two homogeneous though distinct entities: Ecotone™ aims to be a transitional material between technical quartz, produced with a traditional methodology, and a more cutting-edge surface that places its focus on respecting our planet. In fact, 60% of the power used in slab production is from wind power and the water used is recycled.

The Ecotone™ – New Era collection, created from the fusion of different elements culminating in their rebirth in new guises, expresses the eternal fascination of metamorphosis. A range of seductive surfaces, between influences of classicism and contemporary mood, ideal for use as kitchen counter-top, for the bathroom environment and as wall and floor covering.

The slabs come with either glossy or matte finish, in 320 x 155 cm size and 2 or 3 cm thickness.

Inside the booth where they could clearly be seen were the collections Planet, Forest, and Ocean by Quartzforms®, made of full-body technical quartz, whose harmonic range of colours inspire countless beautiful, tangible, functional design ideas for the boldest and most ambitious design requirements.

While Planet’s harmonious colour scheme and elegant veins inspired by natural stone accompanies uson an ideal and visionary journey chasing the path of the planets, Forest rediscovers and enhances the kaleidoscope of multiform textures offered by the environment around us through delicately textured slabs inspired by nature and its spontaneous suggestions. On the other hand, Ocean is inspired by oceanic expanses, the depths of the abyss and the ocean’s wave motion with its surfaces that brighten the environments in which they are placed.

About Quartzforms®

Specializing in the production of quartz surfaces for kitchen, bathroom, and wall and floor coverings, Quartzforms® was established in 2010 after the acquisition of a BretonStone® production plant in Germany by the Scapin Group, a leading Italian company in the processing of marble, granite, composite materials, and agglomerates for use in construction and furnishings.

The high performance and unique Quartzforms® surfaces we have today that cause us to still appreciate natural stone, come from years of technological evolution. Using the most advanced technology, accompanied by an innate propensity for research, a material with unparalleled characteristics of versatility, strength, with long-lasting beauty, hygiene and ease of maintenance is brought to life.

Among the company’s latest innovations is the new generation of Ecotone™ slabs, made with recycled glass, resin derived from bio-compound that is free of silica, which, through the most advanced quartz processing technology, is an alternative with a low impact on the environment while delivering exceptional technical performance.

The 120,000-square-meter production facility in Magdeburg, Germany, consists of two production lines, implementing the most advanced BretonStone technology. The 200,000 quartz composite slabs manufactured each year, are then processed at Marmo Arredo facilities in Italy.
