Catskill, NY – (November 2025) — DWR (Design Within Reach) collaborated with creatives behind Piaule, Nolan McHugh and Trevor Briggs, to announce a new experience and partnership unveiling a series of spaces throughout the property: The Oak House, reimagined Double Cabin suites, and a fresh perspective on the boutique hotel’s memorable Main House.
From left to right: the on-site spa; The Double Cabin living area
DWR’s unparalleled range of original and exclusive designs from around the world adorn the property, from makers and brands including DWR Studio, Herman Miller, Fritz Hansen, Louis Poulsen, Vaarnii, Carl Hansen, Risom, Cassina and Muuto, to name a few. Each piece is selected according to its unique ability to be effective in its purpose; the result is serene interior and outdoor spaces where everything has a place.
The Oak House
Every room opens directly to the outdoors, offering shifting views of forest, meadow, and mountains while a restrained palette of natural materials, warm Vaarnii lighting, and predominantly oak furnishings creates a serene, nature-focused interior.
Vaarnii lighting, made from delicate, translucent strips of pine wood, lends the house a warm glow.
The selected furniture pieces—predominantly in oak—create a sensuous atmosphere that complements the views of the forest and mountains outside.
Guests can also book exclusive in-home experiences—from yoga and private dinners to spa treatments and floral workshops—designed to deepen their connection with the Hudson Valley setting.
Double Cabins
By looking to the environment for inspiration, DWR and Piaule selected enduring, nature-based materials that elevate the guest experience without competing with the view.
With two bedrooms and two ensuite bathrooms joined by a living room, the Double Cabins are ideal for groups of up to four people.
Main House & Spa
The Main House has been refreshed with John Pawson’s Drift Collection sofas for Herman Miller and Cassina’s Oak Tabouret Stools by Charlotte Perriand, a nod to traditional three-legged Alpine milking stools.
Framed by warm wood and concrete, the spa immerses guests in the quiet beauty of Catskill.
The partnership is rooted in the brands’ connection to architecture, nature and craft, and a belief that purposeful design can elevate everyday life.
