Revival celebrates traditional color coordinating techniques with its thoughtful pairings of prints, wovens, embroiders, and wallpaper.
Colmar, PA (August 27, 2024)—Bassett McNab, renowned for its traditional style and generation-old influence on American design, introduces the Revival collection of fabric and wallpaper featuring floral, ikat, and embroidered designs. The Revival collection brings back the long-awaited return of wallpaper to the Bassett McNab brand, a category that ceased production decades ago, prior to its acquisition by Stout Textiles in 2019.
“What truly sets Revival apart is its origin story – these designs are not mere reproductions, but rather original creations plucked from our archives, never before seen in wallpaper form,” said John Greenawalt, Vice President of Operations, Stout Textiles. “Each pattern tells a story, echoing the heritage of Bassett McNab while embracing the evolving landscape of contemporary design.”
The Bassett McNab creative team started with the desire to revive the colorways of archived prints to appeal to modern-day traditionalist decorators. Drawing on the brand’s rich history, paired with the team’s yearning to reintroduce Bassett McNab’s beloved wallpaper and the customers’ demand for colorful embroideries and wovens, the Revival collection took shape. When specified together, the Revival collection provides designers an opportunity to create traditional color-drenched rooms in coordinating colors from walls to upholstery to window treatments.
“Just like any great comeback, the making of this collection has refreshed favorites, which are seen in our large-scale Ariel and Bukhara patterns, and completely new patterns, such as the woven Topiary design and small-scale Hydrangea pattern,” says Janie Robertson, Design Director, Stout Textiles. “I love how you can clearly decipher the new guard paired with the old guard and how their colors play nicely together.”
The Revival collection has a total of 37 new SKUs featuring garden-fresh greens, varying depths of blues, neutral sands, and a touch of pinks and reds. It was designed in the United States and made in trusted mills in Italy, India, and domestically within the United States. Over the past 100 years, Bassett McNab has become synonymous with enduring appeal and relaxed luxury. While the brand may pull at childhood chintz memories, it’s now paving the way for the next generation of memorable classics.
