High Point x Design is bringing the HPxD Hummer Tour back to High Point Market. On opening day, Saturday, Oct. 22, Durham, North-Carolina-based interior designer and influencer Don Ricardo Massenburg will lead 12 interior designers on a curated tour of selected HPxD showrooms via a 31-foot stretch Hummer.
Professional interior designers may apply to catch the market hum through Friday, Sept. 23, at HPxD.org. The dozen designers will be selected through a lottery-based process, mindful of diversity and inclusion, central to HPxD’s goal. Participating designers and the tour schedule will be announced in early October.
“We will definitely make our mark on High Point Market and we’ll be doing it in style,” Massenburg says. “The Hummer Tour is about camaraderie and discovery, so get ready to add new staples to your go-to vendor list. Whether it’s your first trip to High Point or fall market is like homecoming to you, this tour will make it one for the books.”
In addition to customized showroom visits, the all-day tour includes a kick-off breakfast, lunch and after-party, plus swag. A photographer travels with the group.
“The Hummer Tour allowed me to not only experience showrooms with some exclusivity – meeting the creators and teams behind the brands – but also opened the door for me to begin building professional relationships with these same individuals,” says Que Tate of Twenty Sevyn Interiors, who participated last year.
