At the October High Point Market Spectra Home showroom visitors wrote their special healing intentions on a beautiful linen fabric which was used to upholster a Tamara Day by Spectra Home Meyer Chair. Infused with hopeful, helpful energy it was raffled off after the April Market to benefit The Common Thread for The Cure Foundation.
A strong opening day for the majority of exhibitors got the Spring Decorative Fair, held in Battersea Park from 7-12 May, off to a flying start. The week brought serious buyers, decorators working on projects, and trade customers looking for fine and unusual furniture, mirrors, lighting and elegant C20th furnishings. Art in various disciplines sold well including sets of prints; modernist objects and works of art proved very popular, with a notable interest in Brutalist designs; traditional English antiques and upholstery was in demand.
The inaugural edition of DESIGN MIAMI.LA opens today, taking place until May 20, 2024 at a private Holmby Hills estate. The fair’s Curatorial Director, Ashlee Harrison, offers a dynamic program of collectible design, serving as a testament to California’s rich design heritage as an international arbiter of taste. From the post-war mid-century design boom and car culture, to the entertainment industry and space age engineering, the fair explores themes of eclecticism, imagination, and nostalgia – all integral to the city’s design landscape.

Proposals distinguished by a strong personality, which focus on the poetic language of nature, signed by prestigious international designers: atelier oï, Draw Studio, Foster + Partners, Gabriele e Oscar Buratti, Mario Bellini, Migliore+Servetto, Nespoli e Novara, and Zaha Hadid Architects are thus called upon to interpret the company’s vision with furniture proposals for the living area and bathroom area.
The result of a long process of research into the mechanics of solid pieces, Move is inspired by the organic forms that wood takes in nature, reinterpreting them through Giorgetti’s tradition of fine cabinet making.
