The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2000, supports individuals fighting breast cancer who are affiliated with the furnishings and design industries by offering financial assistance through confidential grants. The grants aid breast cancer survivors and their families to meet financial obligations, household needs and transportation to medical appointments during treatment.
Building on the success of its Drew & Jonathan Home brand in partnership with Scott Brothers Global, Hooker Furnishings’ Pulaski Furniture division will expand the multi-collection line into the accents category this fall, a first for the partnership between the two companies.

Architect, designer and artist Suchi Reddy would like to move discussions about design beyond the realm of style.
Not that there’s anything wrong with style. But design is so much more — so much more fundamental to the human experience, says Reddy, the founder of Reddymade, a New York-based architecture and design firm. Reddy will give the keynote address at the inaugural Design, Art & Science Symposium on Friday, Oct. 13. The symposium is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Loft in Congdon Yards in High Point. Reddy’s keynote, “Form Follows Feeling: Neuroaesthetics in Interior Design,” will begin at 9:15 a.m.
Houston interior designer Alexandra Killion’s second annual La Petite Maison Gala will take place on October 12 at The Junior League of Houston.
