Common Thread for the Cure foundation hosts Stitching Together Hope: A Night of Support

The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2000, supports individuals fighting breast cancer who are affiliated with the furnishings and design industries by offering financial assistance through confidential grants. The grants aid breast cancer survivors and their families to meet financial obligations, household needs and transportation to medical appointments during treatment.

Reddy will give the keynote address at the inaugural Design, Art & Science Symposium on Friday, Oct. 13. The symposium is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Loft in Congdon Yards in High Point. Reddy’s keynote, “Form Follows Feeling: Neuroaesthetics in Interior Design,” will begin at 9:15 a.m.

Designer dollhouses auctioned to benefit a shelter for cancer families

Houston interior designer Alexandra Killion’s second annual La Petite Maison Gala will take place on October 12 at The Junior League of Houston. This year, a new architect, builder, and group of distinguished designers will convene to create a collection of one-of-a kind dollhouses. The gala will continue to benefit A Shelter for Cancer Families (ASCF), an organization that provides private residences and support services for families receiving cancer care in the Texas Medical Center.
