Milan,2025/12/10 – Superstudio returns to Milan Design Week 2026 with a project that tells the story of international design and its many transformations across aesthetics, research, and innovation. Among this year’s major highlights, the special project by MOOOI which will present a large immersive installation by Marcel Wanders, in collaboration with Superstudio at its historic location in the Tortona Design District. In parallel, at Superstudio Maxi, Giulio Cappellini signs a new visionary installation that broadens the perspective on the cities of the future.

SuperNova, SuperCity and SuperPlayground
The format for Milan Design Week 2026 unfolds across a network spanning a total area of 30,000 m²in three distinct districts of Milan: Tortona, Barona, and Bovisa. A multifaceted experience articulated across the brand’s three venues – Superstudio Più, Superstudio Maxi, and the new Superstudio Village – each defined by a clear identity and a distinct curatorial approach.
SUPERSTUDIOPIÙ – SuperNova and MOOOI’s special project
The first biggest news of this edition is the return of MOOOI. Supported by Superstudio, the Dutch brand will present a large immersive installation by Marcel Wanders in the Central Point space, extending across nearly 1,000 m².
This new project marks a significant moment: twenty-five years after debuting its first Milan presentation at Superstudio Più, Moooi returns to its origins with a concept that reflects on its past while projecting decisively into the future. Presented through a raw, reflective, silver-toned scenography, the installation reinterprets iconic pieces, explores re-engineered forms and showcases the brand’s ongoing commitment to experimentation. The result is an environment that captures Moooi’s youthful momentum at twenty-five years young. This is an invitation to witness a design story that continues to evolve with ambition and imagination.
Other major international brands will bring to life their own independent pavilions ,while many other global names and realities will occupy Superstudio Più’s indoor and outdoor spaces with custom projects and new visions of contemporary design.

SUPERSTUDIO MAXI – SuperCity, the ideal design city, where art and architecture look to the future through research and international schools
SuperCity is the major collective project hosting multiple exhibitors and visions: a map of an ideal city of the future, where the boundary between design, art, and architecture fades, making room for an immersive experience.
All within this collective project, at the heart of Superstudio Maxi, Giulio Cappellini presents a visionaryinstallationthatportraysthecityofthefuture. An urban landscape created in collaboration with numerous major brands, each shaping a different area. Dream and matter, imagination and design coexist in a scenographic, almost cinematic setting.
One of the event’s thematic areas will be dedicated to the best design academies and universities from around the world, offering a window onto the most urgent and innovative topics of the contemporary landscape. Within this framework, the collaboration with ICFF – International Contemporary Furniture Fair of New York continues, placing education at its core.
SuperPlayground
SuperstudioVillage, new for 2026, will open in the Bovisa district with SuperPlayground: a programme dedicated to young designers, emerging studios, and creative collectives. A fresh, experimental approach that brings back the original spirit of Fuorisalone – making space for those who explore new languages and imagine future scenarios.
Through an international Open Call, Superstudio will provide selected talents with flexible exhibition spaces from 5 to 100 m², along with comprehensive organisational support, reaffirming its commitment to believing in new generations. A tangible effort that expands opportunities for those who might otherwise have fewer chances to enter the main circuits of the event.
A project for the city and the future of design
With Superstudio Design 2026, we have chosen to triple not only the spaces, but also the research directions that represent the project’s identity and its vision for the future of the city. Three themes that intertwine and express what we consider essential for the growth of contemporary design: dialogue with leading international protagonists, the enhancement of research and schools, and a return to an authentic, experimental spirit that gave rise to Fuorisalone.
It is a cultural and urban investment born in Milan and for Milan, designed to activate new creative districts, generate connections, and offer opportunities for expression to emerging generations. An ecosystem that does not simply host content, but aims to build a new Design Week model capable of bringing together vision, quality, and openness.
Three perspectives that converge into a single vision: contributing to the development of a design ecosystem that grows with Milan and strengthens its role on the global stage.
Places and people
To make the visitor experience easier during Milan Design Week 2026, Superstudio is working on enhancing its registration system to enable access to all venues through a single QR Code. In addition, the possibility of a shuttle transfer service connecting the three venues is being explored, to create a dedicated transport network and an experience designed around places and people.
