Designers and their clients in the high-end market remain captivated by curved shapes in upholstered furniture frames, as this lingering trend reflects an ongoing desire for comfort, warmth and sense of shelter. From the designer perspective, curves help to create flow and approachability within a space.
The collection, stocked in the High Point warehouse, is available for the 2024 holiday season. Domestic orders can be shipped in time for seasonal gatherings, a win for the company’s interior designer customers looking to complete client projects before the end of the year.
“Customers continue to tell us they want more cover options in dining chairs,” said Universal Furniture President Sean O’Connor. “We compiled our best-selling styles across modern and traditional designs, and created a domestic program that offers upholstered dining chairs and stools with the same craftsmanship as our special order sofas and chairs.”
The Sadie chair, for example, is a custom made creation of a smaller scale that is hard to source in retail, but that has found its way in numerous clients’ homes and now, a signature piece in the Heirloom Collection. Tamara Day, interior designer and host of Magnolia Network’s top hit show Bargain Mansions, is known as the purveyor of glam and cozy lifestyle looks for families like hers. The partnership with Spectra Home will focus on creating upholstered seating that fits into Day’s practical family-friendly style that is also affordable, attainable, and aspirational. The Tamara Day by Spectra Home upholstery collection will debut at the October 2023 High Point Market.
