Ongoing demand for feminine shapes in upholstered furniture drives design development
LOS ANGELES — Nov. 5, 2024— Nathan Anthony Furniture launches a robust collection of U.S. made upholstered seating product drops this season, developed in response to interior design trade demand for feminine and cozy forms, available for customizing at nafurniture.com.
KOTA
Generously scaled with an inviting aspect, the two-piece Kota sectional features knife-edged, double-down-filled pillows for arms; deep seating adjoined to a tall back and extra cushioning throughout. The Kota collection includes a two-arm sofa and a two-arm chair among its available configurations.
NADIA
Inspired by its popular, fully upholstered dining chair of the same name, the new two-seat Nadia settee features a gently curved inside back and swooping profile, which transitions into two extra-wide upholstered legs, each accented with a modern, Alder wood base.
SOFT
Tailored for unparalleled comfort as a modular sectional, Soft is now available as a three-seat sofa accented with hand-turned wood legs. Crafted with the luxurious sink-in sensation of plush feather and down construction, this feature is seamlessly integrated with a premium memory foam core.
MICHEL
Wide, hand-pulled channeling on the padded headboard and footboard of the Michel bed makes a dramatic design statement while offering a plush, cozy embrace for loungers. Its elegant wood plinth base is reminiscent of related styles in this popular upholstered seating group.
LYLA
Playful and cozy, the Lyla stool is available in both counter and bar heights, adding to the original dining chair offered by the benchmade upholstery resource. Four soft-edged, sculptural legs anchor its striking and shapely back rest.
THEODORA
The Theodora accent chair combines chic design with ultimate comfort, featuring an elegantly rounded, tub-style back. With its generously sized seat, and added back pillow, it is available in both stationary and swivel options.
Each of the new Nathan Anthony styles may be customized by choosing from over 250 in-line fabrics, including eco-friendly and high-performance items, sustainable leathers, customers own material (COM) or leather (COL). Selling exclusively to-the-trade, designers may additionally specify wood finishes, welting, stitch details, cushioning and more.
Designers and their clients in the high-end market remain captivated by curved shapes in upholstered furniture frames, as this lingering trend reflects an ongoing desire for comfort, warmth and sense of shelter. From the designer perspective, curves help to create flow and approachability within a space.
“We’re always looking for ways to push the boundaries of traditional furniture design in meaningful ways,” says Tina Nicole, Nathan Anthony co-founder and chief creative officer. “Adding to the sense of flow, we want to promote opportunities for improving human comfort and connection within any room setting.”
