Spanish textile company Crevin launches sustainable knit fabric with Studio Roderick Vos

TERRASSA, Spain — Crevin, a Spanish upholstery and decorative textile manufacturer, has introduced Trena, a sustainable knit fabric developed with Studio Roderick Vos that mimics the appearance of traditional Indonesian bamboo mats.

The fabric creates an illusion that furniture pieces are entirely woven, providing what the company describes as an “enveloping visual and tactile experience.” Trena’s textured surface adds depth and warmth to furniture while maintaining a subtle presence in interior spaces.

The sustainable fabric is partially made from recycled yarns and produced using energy-efficient techniques, aligning with Crevin’s environmental initiatives. The company operates under its “Road to Zero” program, which aims to eliminate waste, water usage and carbon dioxide emissions.

Trena comes in 14 colors inspired by natural elements and Balinese culture, including muted greens, warm earth tones and soft accents that reflect natural fading from sun, sea and rain exposure. The color palette is designed to complement contemporary interiors.

This marks only the second fabric Crevin has commissioned from an external designer since the company’s founding in 1976.

About the companies

Crevin operates a fully integrated textile mill in Terrassa, near Barcelona, where it develops, weaves, dyes and finishes its products. The company creates fabrics from custom-spun yarns and recycled materials for residential, commercial and outdoor applications. Crevin distributes to more than 60 countries.
