Milan — SOLIDIFIED will present the second edition of its collective exhibition, From Matter to Form, during Milan Design Week 2026 at Viafarini, Via Carlo Farini 35, in the Isola District. Curated by David Heldt of SOLIDIFIED and Sanne Kaal of FINISHED FORMS, the exhibition brings together designers, studios and brands in a shared exploration of coherence through material, form and composition. The project examines how distinct objects and ideas can coexist within a single universe, emphasizing tension, rhythm and movement over conventional notions of harmony.

The exhibition is conceived as a curated environment in which individual works retain their autonomy while contributing to a broader spatial composition shaped by texture, tactility and placement. Participants confirmed to date represent Belgium, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany and the Netherlands, with additional exhibitors to be announced ahead of the opening. A limited number of exhibition spaces remain available.

Kaal, a Dutch designer and curator, works at the intersection of functional design and art, with a practice rooted in material research and craftsmanship, particularly ceramics. Her curatorial approach focuses on dialogue between disciplines, framing exhibitions as shared contexts in which material, color and form establish meaning. Heldt, founder of SOLIDIFIED and principal of Connecting the Dots in Amsterdam, has organized design exhibitions since 2006 and co-founded the design route GLUE Amsterdam. He has lived in Milan for 12 years and is known for long-standing involvement with Salone del Mobile and international design platforms.

Viafarini, founded in the early 1990s, is dedicated to supporting emerging artists and advancing public engagement with contemporary art through exhibitions, education and documentation. The venue previously hosted the first edition of SOLIDIFIED in 2024.
