SFD adds two new broad appeal categories to the 2025 Pinnacle Awards

Home Office and Occasional Storage are now split into Broad Appeal and Luxury categories: Entry Deadline: July 31st

High Point, N.C., June 18, 2025 — To better reflect the full range of products in home furnishings, the International Society of Furniture Designers (ISFD) has divided the Home Office and Occasional Storage Pinnacle Awards into Broad Appeal and Luxury categories for the prestigious 2025 Pinnacle Awards. Winners will be announced during the fall High Point Market at the annual Pinnacle Awards Gala held on Monday, October 27, 2025. Mark your calendars, the deadline to enter is July 31, 2025.

“After reviewing the Pinnacle Award entry categories, the ISFD board decided to add Broad Appeal categories for the Home Office and Occasional Storage sections,” stated David Blair, ISFD executive director. “This will allow companies that serve consumers at lower price points to be recognized for excellence in design.”

Home Office – Broad Appeal encompasses desks, seating, and storage specifically designed for a home office. The piece(s) combine office functionality with style and sizing suitable for home use. The suggested retail price must be less than $2,500 for a desk, $1,000 for a chair, and $1,500 for a credenza or bookcase. Entries may be submitted as a single piece or a group.

Home Office – Luxury recognizes desks, seating, and storage designed for a home office with a suggested retail price of more than $2,500 for a desk, $1,000 for a chair, and $1,500 for a credenza or bookcase. Entries may be submitted as a single piece or a group.

Occasional Storage – Broad Appeal includes furnishings intended for home use, primarily designed for storage, such as wall units, étagères, curio cabinets, or movable storage. This category excludes furniture designed to accommodate audio and/or video equipment, which should be entered into the Entertainment category. The suggested retail price must be under $3,000. Entries may be submitted as a single piece or a group.

The Pinnacle Awards professional categories recognize designs produced in large quantities for sale to consumers. The recipients of the highly coveted Pinnacle Awards are the designers or design teams directly involved in the “design craft” of the product(s). The items or collections entered must be in current production and must be displayed and sold at one of the major home furnishings or fabric markets worldwide. These highly sought-after awards honor the talented designer who brings the idea to life by putting pen to paper.
