Lawson-Fenning expands Los Angeles footprint with Studio LF

The latest space offers an elevated, gallery-like experience alongside their creative studios

Los Angeles, CA — Lawson-Fenning, the Los Angeles and New York-based design brand renowned for its distinct blend of handcrafted furniture, ceramics, and vintage curation, announces the opening of Studio LF, a new 7,500-square-foot showroom and design studio adjacent to its Melrose Avenue flagship. Housed in a 1930s bow truss warehouse with original unpainted wood ceilings and skylights, the expansion represents the next chapter in the brand’s continued growth.

Inside Studio LF, visitors will find an airy, open main space with soaring ceilings designed to evoke a gallery-like environment. More intimate side rooms highlight lighting, vintage pieces and ceramics, and Lawson-Fenning’s growing fabric lines. An upstairs mezzanine provides space for designers to collaborate with clients, supported by a resource library stocked with material samples.

“We want to show an elevated, curated version of the brand, and have a space to launch new products,” shares Glenn Lawson, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Lawson-Fenning. “The new space will house our design offices and creative team. It will be the perfect opportunity to give clients a behind-the-scenes look at how we develop, create, and launch our pieces.”

The expanded showroom will also debut new work by Shane Gabier, Devin Wilde, and Adam Sirak, fabrics from ZAK+FOX, custom plantscapes by Haus Plant, and an art program curated by Rhett Baruch Gallery. These offerings join Lawson-Fenning’s signature furniture and vintage selections, including limited-run and one-of-a-kind artisan pieces sourced from Europe and the U.S.

Grant Fenning, co-founder and Chief Design Officer, adds: “We’re excited to be expanding our LA footprint with such a dynamic space. We see this additional building as a platform to showcase our artists and our own line in a more refined setting. It also gives us a larger canvas as we broaden our collection offerings in the months ahead.”

By leaning into the building’s historic character, Studio LF connects past and present. The renovation preserved the soaring ceilings and 1930s architectural details, creating an atmosphere that honors the original warehouse while reframing it for a contemporary design audience.

In a nod to history, the renovation also revealed a small hidden doorway that once connected the new building to Lawson-Fenning’s original showroom next door. Restored as a sliding 1930s steel fire door, it now links the two spaces, creating a seamless experience between the flagship and Studio LF.

“Walking through the restored passageway feels like stepping into another place—an expanded vision of what Lawson-Fenning has always stood for,” says Tana Ward, President of Lawson-Fenning.

Studio LF will host a grand opening party for clients, the design community, and the general public on October 24, 2025.
