Holly Hunt debuts first exclusive collection with Christian Astuguevieille

New York, NY | July 2025 – Holly Hunt is pleased to announce the debut of a new collection of textiles, wall coverings, and rugs with Christian Astuguevieille, the enigmatic French artist whose career spans fashion, fragrance, sculpture, and furniture design. This latest offering builds on the creative partnership between Holly Hunt and Astuguevieille, who has been represented in the brand’s portfolio through his distinctive woven rope furniture, as well as art and objects for over 25 years. Known for his bold linework and whimsical drawing style, he extends his boundless creativity to the world of interior surfaces in this new collection with Holly Hunt.

Comprising six original designs, the collection distills Astuguevieille’s poetic and playful worldview into textiles, wallcoverings, and rugs. The collection draws inspiration from a rich tapestry of influences, spanning different eras, geographies, and civilizations. From an abstracted toile that hints at folklore to rhythmic, all-over motifs inspired by ceramics, the designs blur the boundary between object and artwork – an approach that has defined the artist’s decades-long practice.

“This collection emerged from a long-standing creative dialogue with Christian,” says Jo Annah Kornak, SVP and Executive Creative Director at Holly Hunt. “At Holly Hunt, we seek unique, compelling designers and act as curators of talent and artisans who bring a distinct voice to our brand. Christian’s work is distinctly evocative, layered, and rooted in history and imagination – qualities that deeply resonate with us. We saw an opportunity to collaborate on a new collection that would translate the spirit and genius of his artwork into something tactile and alluringly expressive.”

Trained in both fine art and literature, Astuguevieille first rose to prominence in the worlds of fashion and fragrance, creating fragrances for design houses such as Comme des Garçons, before turning his attention to sculptural furniture, jewelry, and object design. His work is unified by a fascination with ancient rituals, symbolic forms, and the mysteries of material culture.

This collaboration marks a new chapter in the ongoing creative dialogue between Holly Hunt and Christian Astuguevieille, rooted in a shared commitment to craftsmanship, storytelling and dynamic design. The collection is available now through Holly Hunt showrooms and online at hollyhunt.com
