In a return to Ben Soleimani’s roots in custom design, his eponymous brand has launched BESPOKE, a dedicated program of made-to-order rugs and handcrafted furniture for the trade. He’s also launched a new rug collection in partnership with global architecture and design firm Gensler.
“As the company pivots toward a more trade-focused and contract model, the intention (of BESPOKE) was to create a program that allows clients to fully customize elevated designs in every detail of the utmost quality,” Soleimani, a fourth-generation rug expert, told Design News Now. “From scale and palette to material selection and large-volume capabilities, BESPOKE was conceived to bring unparalleled flexibility and refinement to the process.”
The BESPOKE program for designers includes more than 100 furniture pieces, from upholstery to dining to lighting and more. “For rugs,” Soleimani says, “the selection spans hundreds of options, creating a limitless foundation that continues to evolve as the program grows.”
“The vision (for BESPOKE) was to elevate the collection to an even higher standard of excellence,” Soleimani says. “Each piece is crafted with uncompromising attention to detail, showcasing rare and distinguished materials such as Macassar wood to create designs of exceptional character.”
For the BESPOKE program, lead times vary by product. “On average, delivery is expected within two to four months for furniture, depending on stateside (which we are doing more of) and three to five months for rugs, based on mode of shipping, once the design is finalized and approved,” Soleimani says.
Soleimani is known as a pioneer in sustainable luxury, focused on natural, renewable materials and upcycled fibers. He founded his company, which also offers a renowned antique rug selection, in 2019. It has showrooms in Los Angeles and New York.
Soleimani’s new rug program, the Gensler x Ben Soleimani Collection, “pairs architectural rigor with artisanal craftsmanship, resulting in hand-knotted rugs that bring elevated texture, performance and beauty to commercial and residential spaces,” according to the company.
The designs include the Variegated Grid in six colorways, Big Grid in four colorways, Small Grid in one colorway and Hashtag in two colorways. The hand-knotted rugs are made of sustainably source New Zealand wool. Made-to-order and customizable, the rugs can be rescaled or recolored to suit residential or commercial settings.
