NEW YORK (June 27, 2024) – BAS Stone, the distinguished New York City-based stoneyard renowned for sourcing exceptional stone from around the world for architects, designers and builders alike, announces the opening of its new location in Long Island City.
The highly anticipated unveiling of the new stoneyard marks an exciting milestone for the company as it expands its footprint within New York City’s vibrant design scene, continuing to push the boundaries of stone innovation. Spanning nearly 42,000 square feet, the new facility boasts over 650 different variations of natural stone, highlighting the company’s exclusive offering of distinctive materials.
Complementing the stoneyard is a spacious 4,500 square foot showroom, featuring an artfully-designed communal area with a bar, lounge, and versatile meeting space, intended as a collaborative hub for architects and designers. This environment empowers BAS Stone’s experienced team to offer clients an enhanced design experience and discover new inspiration to elevate their design projects.
To inaugurate the new space, BAS Stone proudly partnered with the Female Design Council – the premier professional membership and advocacy organization for women in design, architecture and the applied arts – to celebrate the occasion with co-hosted opening events. As a female-led company within a traditionally male-dominated industry, BAS Stone’s partnership and support of the Female Design Council’s mission reflects its commitment to championing diversity across skill and leadership within the trades.
