Avenue Road expands in Dallas with new 12,000 sq. ft. showroom

Dallas, TX – Avenue Road, the design destination for furniture, art,  objects and architectural solutions, announces the opening of its  12,000 square foot showroom in Dallas, Texas. This marks Avenue  Road’s fifth location in North America, reinforcing its growing  presence across key design hubs. Designed in collaboration with  multidisciplinary design studio Bando x Seidel Meersseman (BxSM),  the space embodies Avenue Road’s commitment to craftsmanship,  authenticity, and design excellence. The showroom will officially  open on June 1, 2025.

Amid a flourishing cultural landscape and a deepening appreciation  for design, architecture, and art, Dallas has emerged as an exciting  destination, making it the ideal location for Avenue Road’s expansion.

“We are very proud to be joining such a strong art and design culture  in Dallas,” says Stephan Weishaupt, Founder of Avenue Road.  “Our presence in Dallas is a big step in the development of the Avenue  Road brand. There is a clear sense that authenticity, quality, and  craft are qualities that are valued, and we look forward to sharing  our design stories.”

A DISTINCTIVE TEXAS DESIGN

Initially an unremarkable warehouse with concrete block walls, BxSM  was tasked to create a distinct showroom experience while offering  a fresh interpretation of design and materiality. Unlike the loft-style  apartment setting in New York or the residential townhouse experience  in Toronto, the Dallas showroom emphasizes strong materials, natural  light, and openness—qualities deeply embedded in the Texas landscape.

Inspired by Donald Judd’s industrial-to-residential conversions and  the revered architecture of the Kimbell Museum by Louis Kahn, BxSM  designed the space with an emphasis on abundant natural daylight  and Texas brick. The central courtyard, an unexpected focal point, is  surrounded by brick walls that diffuse sunlight throughout the space,  creating a serene yet dramatic interplay of light and shadow. The design  balances openness and intimacy, with strategically placed brick volumes  shaping the showroom layout while maintaining an inviting flow.

“The task of renovating an industrial building for the display of furniture  and objects—in Texas, no less—brought Donald Judd’s work in  Marfa to mind immediately,” says Robert Seidel, Principal of BxSM.

“Judd prioritized abundant natural light in his restorations, something  often lacking in traditional gallery settings. While he favored soft  clerestory light and expansive open spaces, Avenue Road’s collection  called for dramatic contrasts of light and dark and a more intimate scale.”  The result is a space that feels both striking and thoughtfully curated.

The showroom’s ever-evolving layout also ensures a dynamic and  inspiring experience for visitors. “The project’s minimal material palette  of brick, plaster, and raffia in buff tones, a soft white paint on existing  ceiling and trusses, and a refinished concrete floor, are combined  with very simple geometries to provide a range of quiet settings to  maintain a sense of purity and focus on the furniture,” explains Caroline  Meersseman, Principal of BxSM.

NEW COLLECTIONS & THOUGHTFUL CRAFTSMANSHIP

The opening of the showroom will also coincide with the launch of a  North American partnership and representation of the Brazilian furniture  brand, Etel, alongside a curated selection of global design brands,  including Delcourt Collection, Man of Parts, Tribu, Van Rossum, and  6:AM Glassworks.

With this expansion, Avenue Road continues to set a new standard in  luxury furniture retail, offering a space that seamlessly integrates design,  architecture, and art—cementing its presence in one of the most vibrant  design communities in the U.S.

The Avenue Road Dallas Showroom will open on June 1, 2025. Designers  and clients are welcome Monday through Friday by appointment.
