ALEOR Craft & Biodesign will open a new gallery space dedicated to bio-based and recycled design in the former Thalie Foundation location in Ixelles.
On June 19th, the gallery will host a three-day inaugural event for industry professionals featuring exhibitions and discussions focused on “Living Design” — bringing together creatives and industrial stakeholders to explore bio-based materials and sustainable living practices.
The opening will feature speakers Barbara Coignet, founder of 1.618 Paris; Emmanuel Tibloux, director of École des Arts Décoratifs; and Nathalie Guiot, founder of ALEOR Craft & Design.
The gallery will launch ALEOR ARCHIVES, a material library showcasing bio-materials created by designers, and open its design studio to support creative industries, designers and interior architects working with sustainable materials. The space will serve as a center for consultation and experimentation on environmentally focused projects.
ALEOR positions itself at the intersection of craft, design and art, with founder Guiot described as a figure in art, design and ecological transition.

Program Details:
5:00 PM – Public welcome & discovery of the showroom and material library
6:00 PM – Talk: Design in Transformation: Territories, Narratives and Creative Industries in Transition With Barbara Coignet, Emmanuel Tibloux, Nathalie Guiot Moderated by: Alexia Venot
Design as a lever for transformation, both for territories and creative industries. This discussion brings together three distinctive voices to explore design as a transversal force, capable of acting at the interface of social, ecological, economic and symbolic dimensions. Emmanuel Tibloux, author and director of École des Arts Décoratifs, Barbara Coignet, founder of 1.618 — an agency that has brought together ethical brands committed to new luxury since 2009 — and Nathalie Guiot, publisher and exhibition curator, collector, founder and CEO of Aleor Craft & Biodesign, will dialogue around a shared observation: design is an agent of economic, political and emotional transition. Through the emergence of new business models, the development of new imaginaries and new models of cooperation between designers, industries and communities, this talk outlines a situated, poetic and strategic design that transforms narratives — and, with them, environments.
