The colors, patterns, and textures influencing the textile landscape now

A flurry of new textiles released this month showing us that pattern is in it’s nuanced era. These textiles dig deep into craftsmanship, heritage, and softly balanced color palettes that feel both timeless and remarkably current. Painterly stripes, folkloric motifs, botanicals and block-print-inspired designs, each offer designers an opportunity to add depth, texture, and personality without overwhelming a space.

Maresca Textiles

Maresca’s Outdoor Collection of Harwick Botanical and Sassafras (Taylor Hall O’Brien)

Kathryn Maresca Faull’s namesake brand made waves at this past spring’s Design Social in High Point. Now she’s released two new patterns made with InsideOut’s Performance Yarns. Inspired by historic tapestries and botanical motifs, the collection brings a decorative, layered feel in an expressive floral inspired by a canopy hanging at Hardwick Hall in England and a smaller-scale coordinate based on the delicate leaf of the sassafras tree. Peter Dunham

Los Angeles designer Peter Dunham released two new designs this week. Hmong, an artistic take on stripes in indoor/outdoor quality and Jacob’s Stripe, a linen rendition of multicolor stripes. Find them at Peter Dunham Textiles.
