Portola Paints has launched its first brand partnership, teaming up with online home furnishings retailer Lulu and Georgia for a curated collection of six wall paint colors. The paints are available beginning today on the Portola website.
“One of the questions we’re asked most often on Instagram is, ‘What paint color is that?’ and we’re excited to finally share paint colors with our community,” says Sara Sugarman, founder of Lulu and Georgia. “I think paint is always tough for people, myself included. This collaboration was about making the choice a bit easier. We created a palette that feels as intentional and expressive as the spaces our customers are designing.”

“Working with Portola Paints was a natural fit. Like Lulu and Georgia, Portola is a family-owned, Los Angeles-based brand, driven by a shared passion for quality, craftsmanship and timeless design,” Sugarman continues. “I’ve been a big fan for a long time and love the way their finishes make a space feel.” Both companies also cater to designers with trade programs.
Lulu and Georgia offers wallpaper on its site, but this is the brand’s first foray into paint. The new palette includes spring-forward shades — yellow, pink, blue and green — as well as elevated neutrals of beige and tan. Each color is available in ultra flat, eggshell and semi-gloss acrylics, plus Roman clay and lime wash finishes. Like other Portola Paints, they are low odor and contain no VOCs.
The collaboration that led up to today’s launch began last year.

“The process was deeply collaborative from the start,” says Jamie Davis, co-founder of Portola Paints. “Our teams spent months sharing references, testing samples and refining tones to ensure each color felt nuanced and livable. It wasn’t about trends, it was about creating shades that would feel relevant and beautiful over time.”
“From the outset, we were driven by a desire to translate emotion into color and capture the spirit of spring through paint. In our early discussions, we found a shared belief that color plays a powerful role in shaping how a space feels,” Davis continues. “Together, we set out to create a palette that feels fresh yet grounded, thoughtful, expressive and easy to live with.”

Portola Paints has collaborated with interior designers, including Amber Lewis, Brigette Romanek, Jake Arnold and Nickey Kehoe, for their curated picks from the paint producer’s line, which are featured prominently on the company’s website.
But the Portola Paints hasn’t done a partnership like the one with Lulu and Georgia before. When it comes to future projects like this, Davis says, “Looking ahead, we will continue to apply the same philosophy that guided our work with Lulu and Georgia, approaching any future collaborations with the same care and consideration for organic brand alignment.”
