Vegas preview: Accessories that are more than a finishing touch

Modernist touches, natural materials and shapely silhouettes define many of the home accessories buyers will find in showrooms at the Las Vegas Market July 24-28 at the World Market Center. Here’s a preview of some of what you’ll see at the upcoming show.

We’ve also got a look at accent furniture vendors are introducing and highlighting in Vegas. See it here.

(Home furnishings buyers can shop some of these vendors through the online JuniperMarket, too.)

Troy Lighting, a brand of Hudson Valley Lighting Group in Wappingers Falls, New York, gives a traditional drum shade an elegant makeover, wrapping it in vintage gold leaf or forged iron to create the Reedley. The swirls of metal surround the shade for a relaxed vibe and a fresh feel. The Reedley is available as a semi-flush mount and a pendant in three sizes. The lighting group is introducing new lighting in its Mitzi brand, too. (Las Vegas Market, World Market Center, C400 & C401)

This decorative vase highlights the beautiful grains of the natural paulownia wood. Each vase is one of a kind because there are no two sets of grains that match perfectly, says Memphis-Tennessee-based Creative Co-Op. (C712, C788 & C796)

These organic Momo fringe pillows from Los Angeles-based The Global Trunk are made from a blend of cotton and the wool of sheep raised in the Western highlands of Guatemala. Each pillow is hand loomed by K’iche’ Maya artisans on traditional wood looms and backed with a natural woven cotton back. Unlike mass-produced wool products, these blankets aren’t processed in chemicals and are instead washed and brushed by hand, the company says. (E1117)

Expressive and playful, the Mish vase from Moe’s Home Collection will make a ripple in interiors. With its ridged surface and whimsical shape, Mish is a stoneware standout, perfect for housing a few springs of flowers or for serving as an accent piece. Available in white or black, vases can be matched together for a play on tone. (C474)
