Sarreid Ltd. Returns as Design Matters Stage Sponsor

Supporting Design Community and Pediatric Rehabilitation

WILSON, N.C., SEPT. 3, 2026 — Sarreid Ltd. will return to Design Matters in Raleigh this October as stage sponsor, continuing a relationship that brings together two priorities increasingly central to the company: supporting the design community and giving back close to home. The three-day celebration of design, art and lifestyle takes place October 7-9 and benefits the Fitch Family Comprehensive Pediatric Rehabilitation Program at UNC Children’s.

This marks Sarreid’s third year participating in Design Matters and its second as stage sponsor. Raleigh designer Kate Hutchison of kate h. designs is creating the stage environment that will incorporate Sarreid furnishings into the setting. The sponsorship places the North Carolina furniture company at the center of programming that draws designers, creatives, and design enthusiasts from across the Southeast for education, inspiration, and connection.

“The focus on creating a beautifully presented, multifaceted event caught our attention, but Design Matters goes well beyond that,” said Steadman Lanier, vice president of marketing for Sarreid Ltd. “It is a thoughtfully designed experience that brings an extraordinary group of designers together in our own backyard. Just as important, it gives us an opportunity to invest in the Fitch Family Comprehensive Pediatric Rehabilitation Program and help expand access to care for North Carolina families. That combination made our decision to support the event an easy one.”

On October 8, design tastemaker, author, and founder of This Oak House, Annie Meyers-Shyer, will headline the Design Matters keynote luncheon, moderated by VERANDA editor-in-chief Steele Marcoux.

The charitable mission resonated strongly with Sarreid after Lanier and Mickey Sharpe, vice president of design and creative, met with Design Matters organizers to understand both the event and the story behind its beneficiary. The Fitch program grew from one family’s experience navigating pediatric rehabilitation after their son sustained a traumatic brain injury and seeks to expand access to specialized rehabilitation care for children in North Carolina.

“Design is at its best when it creates connection, and that is what Design Matters does so well,” said Sharpe. “Designers leave inspired by the work, the conversations, and one another, but the event also channels that energy toward something larger than our industry. Supporting children and families who need access to specialized care gives the gathering a purpose that means a great deal to us.”
For Sarreid, whose customer base is heavily rooted in the interior design trade, the event also offers a rare opportunity for meaningful exchange away from the pace of a traditional furnishings market. Lanier described the atmosphere as one of collaboration and networking, with conversations among designers, editors and industry leaders reflecting the way the industry supports and inspires one another.

Sarreid’s participation reflects a broader commitment to show up where designers gather, learn and exchange ideas, and to use those opportunities to strengthen both the profession and the communities the company serves.
