The Pinnacle Awards applaud designs that are produced mostly in larger numbers for sale to consumers. The recipient of the highly coveted Pinnacle Award is the designer or designers who were directly involved in the “design craft” of the product(s). The items or collections entered must be in current production and must have been shown and sold at one of the major home furnishings or fabric markets worldwide.
ISFD would like to thank the 2023 Pinnacle Awards sponsors: Platinum Sponsor: ANDMORE, Silver Sponsor: High Point Market Authority, Bronze Sponsors: Continental Hardware, Furniture Design Studios, Leggett & Platt and Sherwin-Williams along with partners Elements Studios, and Furniture Today. Also, thanks to the International Textile Alliance (ITA) for their continued support.

I usually know in advance if a project will be going into the queue for a design competition or not. I did have one surprise though this year. I was really excited to submit a beautiful kitchen we did with incredible metal sculptures but it just didn’t photograph well. The cabinets had a shine and the light was too reflective. I was so disappointed.

Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA, internationally
celebrated architect, designer and founding principal/president and owner of Rottet Studio, captured three Design Awards for Modern Furniture + Lighting, claiming two for her Rottet Collection – the Dark & Stormy Table and the Walking Bench – along with a win for her Fascio Collection Sconces for Visual Comfort & Co. The competition represented submissions from a total of 24 countries and was juried by an esteemed roster of international design professionals. “I am honored to achieve this international recognition for my product designs and showcase them at a global level,” said Rottet. “I thank the jury and congratulate my fellow awardees.”

Wendy was an early adopter of Houzz, advertising on the platform as far back as 2015. She still attributes much of her success to Houzz, and specifically being an early adopter. For a designer getting started today, they may not have as much success on the already saturated platform. It may behoove them to get experimental and trailblaze a newer platform. Find the place in the Wild West that doesn’t already have a populated boom town and become the mayor.
