Urbanology Properties, a new design-driven shoppable vacation rental venture from Urbanology Designs, recently launched their flagship property – an eclectic 100-year-old cottage in Weatherford, Texas reimagined by the award-winning design team.

The venture was born from designer Ginger Curtis’ own frustration while browsing for an Airbnb, unable to find a thoughtfully designed space that felt like a true experience. Everything felt dated, or beautiful in a photo but cheap and uninspiring in person. Ginger designed the first Urbanology Property to be the solution to that search.
“The first Urbanology Properties design destination is an immersive ‘shoppable stay’ that allows guests to experience and fall in love with these obsession-worthy details, and then recreate that moment in their own homes,” said Curtis. While the first is in Weatherford, the team expects to expand to properties across the US soon.

The Cottage is cozy and eclectic, modern with nods to the past. Ginger salvaged and restored the home’s original wood floors and uncovered dramatic original 12″ plank hardwood ceilings in the middle bedroom. The bedrooms are named after and inspired by Ginger’s favorite fictional characters from childhood: Pippi Longstocking, Colonel Mustard, and Ms. Hosell, an imaginary character Ginger and her sister imagined as girls, who was everything they dreamed of being: sophisticated and playful, a glamorous grown-up with humble beginnings who’s hard work and imagination had carried her farther than she’d ever hoped.
The team paired pieces from Nuevo, Four Hands, Alva, Ann Sacks, Moe’s Home, and more with vintage treasures and local artwork. Guests can shop these items from the guest book and the property’s website.
