Molteni Group inaugurates Molteni&C world’s largest flagship store and UniFor showroom

Molteni Group has inaugurated the world’s largest Molteni&C Flagship Store and UniFor Showroom in Shanghai, spanning over 3,500 square meters across two floors. This opening aims to create a visionary design landmark, showcasing Molteni&C Collections, an Art Gallery, and an immersive UniFor space tailored for architects and designers.

The Store is located in the “Golden Union Shi bo” compound along the Huangpu River, an area witnessing Shanghai’s urban transformation. Molteni&C Creative Director Vincent Van Duysen drew inspiration from the building’s brutalist architecture, leaving concrete columns exposed while integrating new sculptural metal details.

The ground floor features living areas displaying iconic Molteni&C designs like the Ovidio bed, Gliss Master wardrobe, and 505UP modular furniture system. The kitchen showcases the Dada Engineered Ratio line alongside the Diamond table and Horizons cupboard. A spiral staircase connects to the first floor.

The first floor houses an Art Gallery highlighting Gio Ponti’s Heritage Collection pieces like the D.154.2 armchair. The UniFor section offers a workshop for architects showcasing workspace solutions like the Parigi armchair, X Shelving by Foster + Partners, and modular workstations.

The Flagship also includes the Charcoal Restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining areas furnished with Molteni&C’s debut outdoor collections like Palinfrasca and Phoenix. The result is an experiential space converging design, art, aesthetics and culture.
