Las Vegas Market’s First Look forecast features three new trends: Beach Bound, Overlay and Purple Prose, inspired by destinations, moods and popular colors. These trends will be showcased through product available at the market July 24-28 market at the World Market Center in Las Vegas.
“The Summer 2022 First Look trends consider how iconic locations, sentiments and color preferences can guide interior and product design,” says Dorothy Belshaw, executive vice president, and chief customer and marketing officer for International Market Centers. “The First Look programming is an actionable style direction for buyers looking to have must-have product going into the 2022 holiday season.”
The three First Looks for summer are:
Beach Bound: What makes this retreat to water, sand and sun look fresh and new for 2022 and beyond? Luscious pastels, revitalizing aqua hues and tropical mainstays. Home furnishings product categories for Beach Bound are outdoor dining and lounge furniture; textiles, including beach towels, throws, and all-weather pillows and area rugs; candles; dinnerware and glassware; and wall decor that evokes beach scenes, ocean vibes and atmospheric light effects.
Overlay: Like an Instagram filter than instantly lends softness, solemnity or sentimentality to cherished photos and casual snapshots alike, First Look’s neutrals showcase captures an elegant mood by way of nuanced details, captivating textures and intriguing forms. Beyond the nod to warmth and subtle luxury, Overlay presents interesting linear patterns, bas relief details and complex textures. Overlay strikes a minimalist/maximalism chord that’s open, airy, livable and reverential. Product categories for Overlay are leather and fabric upholstery; accent tables and pedestals; shelving; area rugs with lustrous effects; lighting fixtures; barware; and wall decor.
Purple Prose: Incoming purples and reds set a stage for a range of sentiments and moods, from festive and vibrant to regal and healthful. Here, tints and shades intermingle with classic and modern patterns. Color references are Pantone Lychee 18-1654, Pantone Anemone 19-2033, Pantone Sparkling Grape 19-3336, Pantone Phalaenopsis 15-3216, Pantone Rose Violet 17-2624 and Pantone Very Peri 17-3938. First Look casts colors from recent Pantone forecasts in a bedroom/lounge backdrop. Furniture categories for Purple Prose are bedroom furniture (nightstands, dressers, and chests); bedding ensembles; space-saving media consoles; area rugs; stationary upholstery; glassware and glass decorative accessories; wall décor, including mirrors; candles; and lighting.
