Common Thread for the Cure to host market mixer

Common Thread for the Cure Foundation, a nonprofit based in Lexington, North Carolina, will host its first High Point Market mixer to unite the home furnishings and design industries in the battle against breast cancer. The event will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at The Point on Commerce Avenue, one block from the Transportation Terminal.

In partnership with the High Point Market Authority and sponsored by Crypton, a leading manufacturer of performance fabrics, the mixer will provide an opportunity to create awareness and educate market attendees about the mission of the Common Thread for the Cure Foundation, as well as its Helping Hand Grants program, which offers financial assistance to furnishings and design industry breast cancer patients through confidential grants.

A Helping Hand Grant aids breast cancer survivors and their families. For example, a grant can be used to meet household expenses, such as a mortgage or car payment, property taxes, a child’s college tuition, transportation costs, medical bills, housing during treatment and more. Grants are made available every year to approved applicants. The process is completely confidential.
