Furniture Classics taps longtime industry veteran of retailer Haynes Furniture

Furniture Classics has hired industry veteran Stephanie Mallette for the role of Vice President of Product and Merchandising. She will join the team in High Point for the April Market and play a key role in the future growth and direction of the company.

In this role, Mallette will be responsible for new product development as well as product management. She will handle the design and development of new products or categories, and any refresh needed for current product assortments. She will work closely with executives and manufacturing partners of Furniture Classics, traveling to multiple countries to maintain decades-long relationships and ensure sourcing meets their high-quality standards. In addition, she will play a key role in the design and set up of all three market showrooms in High Point, Las Vegas, and Atlanta. Mallette will report to Michael Ricks, president of Furniture Classics.

Before joining Furniture Classics, Mallette held leadership positions at Haynes Furniture for over 23 years, including many years as a senior buyer for every home furnishing category. Her most recent roles were VP of Corporate Design & Store Merchandising and VP of Merchandising & Display. In these roles, she launched multiple high fashion brands and developed innovative “store-within-a-store” concepts for major U.S. markets. She also managed global sourcing initiatives, traveling to India, Mexico, China and Vietnam, to name a few, collaborating with top manufacturers on product design, cost engineering, and exclusive product development. In her roles, she balanced retail concepts for both Haynes Furniture and The Dump Furniture.
