Alicia Cheung Design and Eva Bradley Studio will open on December 1, 2024
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – (December 1, 2024) – After a decade of bringing their forward thinking and award-winning design vision to unique projects across the US and worldwide, the duo behind Studio Heimat, Eva Bradley and Alicia Cheung, will open new interior design firms: Alicia Cheung Design in San Francisco and Eva Bradley Studio in Charleston, SC. As a design studio founded by women with diverse and international backgrounds, the new firms will continue to bring their modern points of view to the forefront beginning on December 1, 2024.
During the transition, Studio Heimat will continue to provide its clients with the highest level of service and commitment to the design it is known for. Eva and Alicia remain committed business partners and champions of each other’s work. They recognize their team’s talent and ensure a seamless experience for our valued clients.
“We’ve had an incredible ten years together, championing each other, challenging each other, and evolving our definition of interior design to bring joy to our clients,” states Eva Bradley. “We also believe this is a unique opportunity to demonstrate that partnership through a transparent and collaborative way of transitioning Studio Heimat to two firms that will carry our names as empowered women and designers,” notes Alicia Cheung.
Alicia will lead her namesake firm, Alicia Cheung Design (ACD), in San Francisco, delivering her ethos of “Design. At your service.” An approach that brings an aesthetic eye and client forward approach to meet each client on their design journey to create their dream home, all with a nod to innovation, sustainability, and human-centered design.
“San Francisco and the Bay Area are going through a transformational moment, and at ACD, we believe designers will play an uplifting role. We are inspired to help our clients create interior environments that tell their story while designing the functionality needed for modern living,” says Alicia.
Eva is relocating to Charleston, SC, to be closer to family in both South Carolina and Switzerland and will open Eva Bradley Studio. With her international design sensibilities and contemporary viewpoint, Eva will craft spaces that tell a deeply personal story, blending modern elegance with a sense of home for clients across the East Coast.
Eva adds, “After more than 20 years away from family and now having one of my own, I’m excited to move to the East Coast to be closer to my loved ones. Charleston’s vibrant culture, rich history, and creative energy offer possibilities for growth and new perspectives. I look forward to how this dynamic environment will inspire my work as a designer and open up new opportunities, both personal and professional.” This move marks the start of an exciting new chapter, where Eva Bradley Studio will bring a fresh sense of home — Heimat — to her clients.
The partners realized now was the time to focus on their interests and families, embracing personal growth and new beginnings. This change will also allow the new offices to continue supporting each practice’s growth with a targeted focus on each region. Both women are thankful to their supportive teams, clients, and partners throughout the years. They welcome this new chapter with the same passion as when Studio Heimat first began.
About Studio Heimat
Alicia Cheung and Eva Bradley founded Studio Heimat in 2015. The women met while working for tastemaker and influential designer Ken Fulk. Guided by the goal of evoking soulful spaces through clean lines, Eva and Alicia elevated the status quo and added edginess to each project. Studio Heimat grew with its sophisticated and design-savvy clients. Collaborations with clients, architects, and builders allowed the duo to create thoughtful, comfortable, and beautiful spaces that cultivated a sense of well-being – that feeling of Heimat.
