Basel, Switzerland (November 21, 2024) Renowned global design firm, Oppenheim Architecture, is expanding its European interiors practice by launching a new studio, further enhancing its design capabilities in Europe. With a focus on creating spaces that embody the “Spirit of Place,” the firm is integrating interior design more deeply with its architectural philosophy. This expansion is led by two key appointments: Mariana Charters as Interior Design Lead and Francisca Soares de Moura as Hospitality Design Lead.
Charters, previously the Interior Design Director at BLINK Design Group in Singapore, brings a wealth of experience in luxury residential and hospitality design. Moura brings over a decade of experience in architecture and interior design.
The new interiors studio will create cohesive, narrative-driven environments that reflect each location’s character, blending interior design seamlessly with Oppenheim’s architectural style. The firm’s global experience ensures that cultural influences are deeply woven into the spaces, fostering connections between the environment and its users.
Current projects like Smartland Villas in Cyprus and La Maviglia resort in Italy exemplify this approach, where architecture and interiors work together to create harmonious, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces.
Beat Huesler, Oppenheim Architecture’s Europe Director, emphasized the importance of this expansion, noting that it represents a natural evolution of the firm’s integrated design approach. The studio’s focus on luxury hospitality and sustainable design highlights the firm’s commitment to creating spaces that offer both beauty and functionality.
Oppenheim Architecture’s new European interiors studio is part of a broader strategy to deepen its impact, supported by recent leadership appointments and the firm’s continued global expansion, which includes opening a new office in Albania.
