(Hilton Head, SC, November 20, 2024) Joni Burden founded her multidiscipline interior design firm, J. Banks Design, over thirty-seven years ago. Since then, she has nurtured the Hilton Head Island-based operation into an internationally recognized force in residential and resort design. With over fifty associates and a credo of luxury without pretense, J. Banks Design takes on a global portfolio of interior design projects that translate resort living to home – and home to resort living.
J. Banks Design is honored to have received four awards at this year’s ASID Awards Gala, with designers Joni Burden, Lisa Whitley and Nicole Edwards winning 2 Gold and 2 Platinum Awards on behalf of the J. Banks Design team. The awards include:
- 2024 ASID Platinum- Hospitality- Embassy Suites in Panama City Beach, Panama City Beach, FL (Joni Burden)
- 2024 ASID Platinum-Residential: New Construction Large (>3,500 SF) (Jones Project-Lisa Whitley)
- 2024 ASID Gold- Residential: Renovation Medium (1,001-3,500 SF) (Lee Project- Joni Burden & Nicole Edwards)
- 2024 ASID Gold-Residential: Single Unique Space (Klobucar Project-Lisa Whitley)
In addition, J. Banks Design has just been named a NEWH Top Interior Designer and has received their 2025 award. NEWH stands for the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality and is an international community connecting the hospitality industry, providing scholarships, education, leadership development, recognition of excellence, and business development opportunities. The TopID award is a prestigious honor determined by NEWH chapter and regional boards to recognize design excellence and promote design firms engaged in supporting NEWH and its mission of scholarship and education. A firm’s quality custom design work in the hospitality industry, along with membership and support the firm has provided the NEWH chapter/region, is considered in the selection process.
