Returning to Design Miami for the first time since 2019, Joseph Walsh is delighted to present Context and Collaboration, a Special Project of the 20th edition of the fair. This presentation marks the US premiere of the international designer’s latest works in wood, in a dialogue with Irish ceramic artist Sara Flynn, following an acclaimed exhibition during Paris Art Week 2024.
The new Brooklyn store goes beyond pottery, showcasing East Fork’s evolution into a lifestyle brand with a wide range of home goods and accessories for the kitchen, entertaining, and beyond. In addition to their iconic ceramics, customers can now shop functional art pieces like block-printed napkins, textural hand-woven runners, fluted glassware and minimalist flatware designed with comfort in mind.
Designers and their clients in the high-end market remain captivated by curved shapes in upholstered furniture frames, as this lingering trend reflects an ongoing desire for comfort, warmth and sense of shelter. From the designer perspective, curves help to create flow and approachability within a space.
Yarn Unveiled is the culmination of seven years of research, innovation, and the intense study of colors and fibers—led by Sylvie. Each piece in this series beautifully encapsulates Sylvie’s belief that yarn possesses a life of its own, with every fiber telling a unique story. She envisions each work in her mind, instinctively selecting the yarns that will bring her vision to life. Her profound respect for yarn, combined with a deep understanding of pigments and material, culminates in an exquisite expression throughout the series.
During the collaboration at the Clay SMA studio in San Miguel de Allende, Amy worked alongside artisans to prototype and curate the collection. Immersed in the creative process, she fine-tuned the tile designs and color palette during this hands-on experience to highlight their unique dimensionality.
