Draga & Aurel have continued their journey of experimentation into materials and transparency with the new ZEN collection of tables and coffee tables, presented recently at the Rossana Orlandi Gallery during Milan Design Week.
Inspiration for the New York installation is rooted in her Living Room scene created for an historic Milanese residence during Milan’s Design Week last month in partnership with Artemest, the digital destination that offers unrivaled access to the world of Italian craftsmanship and design.
Known for her award-winning interiors for the world’s leading luxury hotel brands, offices and high-end residences, Rottet celebrated the tradition of Italian craftsmanship in the artfully appointed Grand Salon adorned with unique antiquities and juxtaposed with select pieces of her cutting-edge Rottet Collection furniture
Designers from around the globe are converging in Milan for Fuorisalone Milan Design Week, April 15 – 21 to exchange ideas and showcase projects that influence our current reality. Through a myriad of events, exhibitions, and installations scattered throughout the city, they aim to shape our present. The theme put forward by Fuorisalone.it, “Materia Natura,” seeks to foster a culture of mindful design.
Draga & Aurel rethink and reinvent the furniture, giving them a new contemporary flair. Combining their skills and past experience in fashion, textiles, art and design, they apply the best and most appropriate creative craftsmanship techniques – such as screen printing, resin covering and brass casting – to bring a second life to the object while preserving its heritage.
